Thoughts in Knots is operated by Akshit Kumar, an individual based in Bengaluru, India. This policy explains what personal data is collected and how it is used.
2. What is collected
When you subscribe, the following is collected: your name, email address, and phone number. Payment details are collected and processed entirely by Razorpay — card numbers, UPI IDs, and bank details are never received or stored by this website.
If you create an account, a password is stored in encrypted (hashed) form. It cannot be read, including by the author.
Basic technical information such as pages visited may be collected for the purpose of understanding what readers find useful.
3. Why it is collected
Your email address is used to deliver the newsletter and account-related messages such as login links and payment confirmations. Your name is used to address you. Your phone number is collected as part of the payment process and for account recovery.
Your data is not sold, rented, or shared for marketing purposes. Ever.
4. Who else processes your data
The following services are used to operate this newsletter, and your data passes through them for that purpose only:
- Razorpay — payment processing
- Resend — email delivery
- Neon — database hosting
- Vercel — website hosting
Each of these has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.
5. Cookies
A single cookie is used to keep you logged in. It contains an encrypted session identifier and nothing else. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are used.
6. How long data is kept
Subscriber data is retained for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed within 30 days, except where a record must be retained for tax or legal compliance.
7. Your rights
